The Methuen Sons of Italy Lodge 902

We are affiliated with the largest and oldest national organization for men and women of Italian heritage in the United States. Our Lodge was first formed in 1919 as the Lawrence Sons of Italy Lodge 902. We had many homes in Lawrence before settling into a converted two floor house on East Haverhill Street in the 1960’s. In 1966 an arm of our organization was formed, the Lawrence Community Center Trust, as a 501 c(3) organization and a 5 acre tract of land was purchased at 155 Marston Street. With the hard work of many local Italian Americans, especially people like John C. Tombarello and Santo Nicolosi, a new Lodge was built on the Marston Street property in 1982. In 1992 both a soccer and softball fields were finished behind the Lodge and then the footprint of the building was expanded in 1994. After over 90 years as a Lawrence-based organization, we sold the property in 2010 and built our new home in Methuen, MA. Our Lodge at 459 Merrimack St. (Rt. 110) opened in Feb. 2013 as a 10,000 square ft. facility, with a spacious function hall, restaurant & bar, anchored by four nationally & internationally sanctioned indoor bocce courts. We petitioned the Supreme Lodge O.S.I.A. for a name change and are now officially the Methuen Sons of Italy Lodge 902. We look forward to continuing to provide expanded member benefits, participate in community activities, and support worthy fundraising causes.
